Refurbishment and extension of a listed power station

Jersey Electricity Company required a semi derelict 1930s power station to be converted into their new headquarters and a showroom with additional retail space.

The striking Art Deco building with prefabricated dia-grid curved roofs lent itself well to conversion to good quality open plan office accommodation on two floors. An atrium space bringing daylight into the centre of the building was carved out of the existing structure.

We refurbished a semi derelict building providing good quality accommodation in a structure with real architectural and historic value.

The striking forms of the rendered building were retained and enhanced. Internally the dramatic dia-grid roof was retained and carefully lit resulting in unique and unusual office space.
